Simple Simon (double)







  This—like the vice versa (see pages 52–53)—is another new knot, less than 20 years old, from the

  brain and fingers of Harry Asher. It is intended to join two ropes or cords of somewhat
  dissimilar diameter or construction.


  Form a bight in the larger or stiffer of the two lines and pass the other working end through it (1).
  Wrap the end of the lighter line up around the front, down the back (2), and up around the front

  once more (3). Then make a return journey, going over at each crossing point (4), and tucking the
  working end up beside its own standing part (5). Pull on both legs or on each line to tighten (6).
