he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit
reap life everlasting.” When God indwells a
believer in the Person of His Holy Spirit, He
does not take over that person’s will. He still
allows us to choose to either "sow to the
Spirit” or “sow to the flesh.” “The flesh”
represents our sinful nature that continues
to war against a Christian’s new, Christ-like
nature until the day of our physical
redemption. So obedience to God by God’s
born-again children is a deliberate choice a
Christian makes, and if we choose to obey
God, the power of the Holy Spirit is
appropriated to our will to empower us to
do what we’ve already willed to do; but if we
choose to disobey God, He will allow us to
suffer the consequences of that
disobedience as a means of loving discipline
