counsel: they despised all my reproof.
Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of
their own way, and be filled with their
own devices."
Most people do not like to think of God in
the way that the above verses in Proverbs
portray Him, but we need a comprehensive
picture of the God of the King James Bible,
and God doesn’t take it lightly when His
reproof is scorned and His revelation of
Himself is ignored or disregarded (See
Romans 1:18-32).
In Old Testament times, God would speak to
His people primarily through prophets, and
the Jews would assemble together in the
Temple and later also in synagogues to hear
