Creating a file
There are many ways to create a file on your computer. Microsoft Windows
offers a way to create a blank file, without having to open an application, by
using the context menu.
1. Navigate to the folder or desktop, you would like to create your file.
For example, My Documents.
2. Right click an empty section of the folder window or desktop.
3. Select "New" from the context menu.
4. Select the type of file you'd like to create.
5. Enter a name for the newly created file.
6. Press Enter key or click on any free space.
Another way, is to create a file with the application to open it. E.g.
Bitmap (Paint tool)
Doc / docx (MS-Word)
Xls / xlsx (MS-Excel)
Jpg, png, (Camera)
Wmv, flv / mp4 (camera)
Wav, mp3, aac, / ogg (Sound Recorder)
Opening a file
1. Locate the file to be opened.
2. Double-click the file to open the file in the program that created it.
OR
1. Locate the file to be opened.
2. Right click the file.
3. Select Open from the Pop Up Menu.
