This chapter explains how to manage files by opening, renaming, moving
(cutting and copying), deleting and retrieving (restoring) files.

               Files

A File is a data stored electronically by a computer as a document, worksheet or
program. This stored data when displayed on the desktop is represented by an
icon called file icon. File icon is used to identify and access the electronically

               stored data.

               A Closer Look at Files

There are three parts to a file. These are:
                          File icon (picture)
The file name, which can be up to 255 characters. [NB: File names
                          cannot contain the following characters: \ / : * ? "<> |]

The file extension, which is three characters long and tells Windows
what type of file it is. It is preceded by a period or full stop (.) E.g. .doc,
.docx, .pdf, .jpg, .png, .mp3, .mp4, etc.

NB: File extension can be disabled from being displayed.
