ESSENTIAL, CRITICAL WORKERS MUST BE VACCINATED: OFFICIAL
Employees working from office (WFO) in essential and critical sectors must receive at least one
dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, an official with the Jakarta provincial government has said.
"The requirement is regulated in Head of the Jakarta Provincial Manpower, Transmigration and
Energy Office’s Decree Number 1972/202 issued on July 26, 2021," Andri Yansyah, head of the
office, informed here on Thursday.
"The regulation covers pandemic prevention and control protocols in private, state-owned
enterprises (SOEs/BUMN) and regional government-owned enterprises (BUMD) offices in Jakarta
until August 2, 2021," he said.
Companies must enforce strict health protocols by regulating operating hours, limiting the
number of staff working from office, carrying out periodic COVID-19 tests, and completing
vaccinations of all employees, Yansyah stressed.
In addition, corporations in essential and critical sectors must also issue Employee Registration
Certificates (STRP) collectively using the Jakevo app for their workers, he added.
The new regulation has urged employers to continue upholding their employees' rights and
forbids the termination of employment of workers placed under self-isolation, Yansyah informed.
Meanwhile, workers who ignore health protocols will be issued a written warning, he said.
