145 INDONESIAN MIGRANT WORKERS DEPORTED FROM MALAYSIA
The first batch of 145 Indonesian migrant workers deported from Malaysia arrived in Indonesia
on Thursday. The 145 workers have been categorized as a vulnerable group, director general of
development and placement of workers and job opportunities expansion at the Manpower
Ministry, Suhartono, said here on Thursday.
The deportation of the Indonesian migrant workers was carried out under the observance of
health protocols, he informed. Soon after arriving at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang,
Banten, the workers were taken to the Wisma Atlet COVID-19 Emergency Hospital in Kemayoran,
Jakarta, where they will undergo quarantine before returning to their hometowns, he said.

children aged under five and a senior citizen.
The migrant workers hail from the provinces of Bengkulu, West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan,
South Sulawesi, North Sulawesi comprised one respectively, while from Jambi, Central Java,
Southeast Sulawesi, West Sumatra, and South Sumatera consisting of two workers respectively.
Three workers come from Lampung, four from Aceh, five from East Nusa Tenggara, five from
Riau, 10 from West Java, 11 from Riau Island, 21 from East Java, 29 from North Sumatra, and
42 from West Nusa Tenggara.
The Board for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers will send them to their hometowns
after their quarantine ends in five days and they test negative for COVID-19, Suhartono said.
