Did you know, our current Canadian flag design BR 428 Wed March 3 10:00
originated at the Royal Military College of Canada in AM to 1:00 PM.
Kingston? In March of 1964, Colonel, the Honourable All donations of non
George Stanley, who was the Dean of Arts at RMC, perishable food items are
first suggested that the Royal Military College flag welcome!
should form the basis for the national flag of Canada.
At the centre, Stanley proposed, should be placed a
single red maple leaf instead of the college emblem.
Colonel Stanley’s design was ultimately approved by
parliament and by Royal Proclamation to be the
symbol of our nation on February 15, 1965.
