KITTY EYE DETAIL
HAT AND PUMPKIN
Kitty
The linework on the kitty is Dark Gray Mix. Line everything except the inside of the eyes, eyelashes, fur, and whiskers.
Kitty Eye Detail
Retard and temper the surface. Glaze the
pupil with Medium Gray Mix. Glaze the iris with Yellow Light and base the line around the yellow with a glaze of Medium Green Mix; when the surface is dry enough not to bleed. Dry completely. Line the iris with Dark Green Mix. Line the pupil with Carbon Black.
STEP 2
Hat and Pumpkin
Shade the hat and pumpkin. Retard the surface and temper as described previously. Using a no. 12 flat or filbert brush, float the first layer of shading using Dark Orange Mix. Soften and blend as needed with your Possibilities brush. Dry completely. Emphasize the shaded area and add texture with
a dry brush of the same color. To accomplish this, load your no. 12 filbert brush with a small amount of Clear Glaze Medium; pick up a small amount of color on your brush and blend on a wax palette wiping
off excess paint slightly on a paper towel. With light pressure, use shape following strokes to apply color. Dry completely.
