$ $ $ $ $ Face Book is a social network that
allows listeners and the station to share
and connect with millions of others
online using the computer. Face Book
has over 400 million active users.
Currently the station uses Face Book
for contesting, updates on station
happenings, reminders about events, thanking Business Impact
Partners, uploading photos, videos, and interviews, sending and
receiving prayer requests, “chatting” with listeners and posting Bible
Verses.
Also magazines and newspapers offer their own versions of their
printed material. If you missed last night’s Oscar presentations on
television last night you can check out a number of on-line magazines
and news services to see all the fashions and learn about all the winners
and losers. This allows them to reach more people that their traditional
paper versions. All of the major news magazines now have their
computer versions. Some even go as far as the Mobile Bay Magazine
and feature blogs by some of their feature writers. There are of course
critics of these new media forms but most people like the accessibility
of these new media formats.
