Chicken Anemia Virus (CAV)
Caused by : Circoviridae virus
Age of infection : < 3 wks- Clinical CAV,3 to 6 wks- Subclinical CAV & >6 wks- carrier &
shedding horizontal.
Symptoms : Stunt Birds, gangrenous drematitis, blue wing, thymus atropy, dermatitis & non
puberty
PM lesions :
Hemorrhages(Subcutaneous, intramuscular & proventricular)
Thymus & bursa, spleen atropy
Fatty yellowish bone & marrow depletion
Swollen & mottled liver
Watery blood
Stunt Birds Dermatitis gangrenosa
Haemorrhage in the subcutaneous layer Bone Marrow Aplasia
