Yes Chami , the Upma of Guntakal station is always piping hot , and just for 10 ,
its very unforgetable. Even now whenever I cross Guntakal I look for an
opportunity. Walking along the tracks can be really amusing. When young we used
to keep a 3p or 5p coin on the track and collect it after it had been flatened by the
train. We expected the whole train to pass over the coin, but it would get so
unstable that it would fall off after a couple of wheels had gone over it. The first
time I ran to pick up the coin, I realised I should wait , it was so hot I almost had
blisters.

I also prefer rail journeys to air travel as I have also travelled a lot by the trains my father being
in the railways. I still have very fond recollections of the travel by first class which has become
non existent now. Every station we could look out and buy stuff sitting in the train itself like chai,
samosas, alu bondas, alu puris practically anything that caught our fancy. The fights to secure a
window seat and then finally agreeing to take turns. We also used to think of a sentence or a
word and felt that the train is repeating what we thought while it's moving. This description took
me back to those times when we travelled a lot by train with my parents and brother and sister.
Beautiful and nostalgic memories.

I have for long believed that there are no coincidences in our lives. There is a purpose behind
everything and with each successive event the belief in this adage has become stronger. TSB
