    Classic Yacht recreational sailing on Port Phillip can now resume. From 10                                      th

    Oct onwards,  at  two  week  intervals  skippers  can  make  individual

    arrangements to be back on the water .

    Relaxation of Vic Govt. Dept of Health Covid-19 Restrictions 28  Sept
    The Vic Govt. DHHS Covid-19 stay at home directions and restrictions on gatherings (No 24, Pages 24 & 25)  issued
    Sept 28 allow recreational classic yachting on Port Phillip subject to complying with the following:
    1. 15 km distance from home rule compliance.
    2. Maximum four hours once a day socialising/exercising with five persons aged 18 years or over from two households
    who are fully vaccinated.
    3. Face mask on when rigging up where 1.5 social distancing cannot be maintained.
    4. Face mask to be carried at all times.
    5. Carry wipe down equipment to cover multi person use of items of equipment on board.

    Current Vic Govt. Covid-19 restrictions require yacht clubs to remain shut down. This means access to club marina’s
    will require you to use the clubs QR code to register your presence when passing through restricted area on club
    premises. Restrictions by clubs regarding access to a club marina by non boat owners has to be considered when any
    recreational yachting is to take place. Recreational sailing activity can only be arranged on an individual boat basis.
    Not as a group organised recreational activity.


    CYAA and Vic Govt. Safe Boating recommendations
    To comply with the Vic Govt. Safe Boating recommendation about notifying a contact of your
    on water intentions, CYAA Safe Sailing QR code has been set up. Scanning this QR code with
    your mobile phone a generate a prompt asking for name of boat plus when and where you intend
    to sail from and time of return. These details of when you  to sail and return can be sent to selected
    CYAA skippers so our CYAA boats to be aware of who else will be with them on the water.       CYAA Safe Sailing QR

    If take up the CYAA safe sailing notification process shows promise we can consider a refinement, post Covid-19.

    This CYAA Safe Boating QR code is now posted on the CYAA web site. Mobile phone use of this QR code will
    require another Mobile phone to access the CYAA web site to display the QR code for scanning.

    2021/2022 Summer Series start date

    When competitive Classic Yachting events on Port Phillip are
    supported  by  our  race  conducting  clubs,  we’ll  begin  our

    2021/2022 Summer Series ASAP. Maybe on 7   Nov. This is
    the day our now postponed 2021 Cup Regatta was supposed
    to take place. So for those boats whose hulls are all slimed up.
    There’s still time to sort out some hull cleaning.
