    Boat festival .

The organisers have noted that while Covid-19 restrictions on group
gatherings next March cannot be forecast, they aim to provide participants
with an event they will hopefully enjoy and encourage meet ups with friends
and like minded Wooden Boat and Classic Yacht enthusiasts. These
uncertainties with Covid-19 restrictions and compliance requirements at this
point in time have required the festival organisers to declare the 2022 festival
to be a ticketed type function and will not be open to the general walk in
    public public.

The major event of the 2022 festival will be the passage race from
                                              th
Williamstown to Geelong scheduled for 12 March with an 8:00 AM start
    time.

The race will be conducted primarily by RGYC with RYCV as the race
starter. All CYAA boats including Cat 7’s are encouraged to enter. The
festival organisers will provide the effective Cat 7 rescue vessel with Lucienne sailing proud in the 2018
                                                                                 Portarlington passage race
accredited personal on board. If light wind conditions exist at the race start
time, it will be motors on to the new start line closer to Geelong. All CYAA
boats entered in the festival passage race will be allocated a reserved premium placed marina pen as a tie up location
    during the festival.

Remember an essential part of your passage race entry will be to have your boat compliant with your home clubs
safety and man over board recovery requirements.

Festival participation memento’s for the passage race competitors are being considered.

The evening of Saturday on completion of the passage race will also be a casual Fisherman’s Basket type function
at the club, Sunday evening will be a BBQ function again, at RGYC. Presentations will be the usual RGYC WBF
awards plus festival organisers prizes for the passage race and twilight races. The organisers plan to provide Wine
    Packs for these prizes.
