Chapter 21 Optional Bug Spray Applicator
Bug Spray Applicator
Note: The E-1063 programming procedure can be found at the end of this section.
Overview
The Bug Spray Applicator aides in the removal of dried insects from the surface of the vehicle.
When a vehicle enters the wash and stops, the Bug Spray Applicator will spray an even coat of
chemical on the front of the vehicle and windshield. The amount of chemical and length of
application time is user selectable. This can be applied to any or all packages. The bug spray is
programmed as one of the three entrance operations in the E-1063. See that section in the
Programming Manual for details.
Note: This application uses city water pressure
The wall mounted chemical pump is the same as the ones for drying agent, wax and triple foam.
Supply water is connected to the ball valve assembly and the chemical pump connected to the
injector. The discharge line from the ball valve then has a mix of water and bug spray chemical
and is connected with a 3/4” water hose to the cross-over tube and is then connected to the
spray manifold in front of the vehicle. The supplied stainless steel tube is to be mounted onto the
bay floor either in a trough cut into the cement or on the surface of the cement in the area where
the vehicle will drive over.
