Introduction

The Belanger, Inc.® TopWinder® is a component in the SpinLite® line of equipment for a tunnel
system. The Belanger, Inc.® TopWinder® main function is to wash all of the top surfaces of a
vehicle. It is designed to operate in only 118-1/2” of tunnel space and is constructed of an aluminum
framework which may also be powder coated in silver.
The TopWinder® utilizes an adjustable counter weight system that allows the customer to fine tune
the cleaning penetration on the vehicle.
A steering dampener, which ensures a smooth and consistent vertical motion while the system is in
operation, is assembled onto each arm. A 2-1/2” bore air cylinder is attached to the Passenger side
arm to retract the cleaning wheel. A Belanger® supplied air panel that utilizes a 3-way solenoid and
an adjustable regulator, feeds air to the retract cylinder.

The TopWinder® is available with two different electrical motors. For 208-230/460 VAC there is a
60Hz 1HP STDV motor or for 575 VAC there is a 60Hz 1HP 575V motor. The TopWinder® also
includes a plastic motor/gearbox cover for protection from water and other contaminants.

The TopWinder® is equipped with ShineMitt™ cleaning material. The construction of this wheel
includes a two piece aluminum hub and foam cleaning material. The foam cleaning material is
durable and flexible.
A filler Strip Kit is included with the TopWinder®. The plastic Filler Strips snap into the center groove
of each oval aluminum structure, providing the component with a more finished look.
