What is Land Re-Use?

Although cemeteries appear fixed in the amount of remains they can hold,
cemeteries keep coming up with ways of creating more room. Mountain View
Cemetery in Vancouver allows for burial plots to be reused every 40 years,
where any remains from the previous burial are carefully placed lower in the
grave to accommodate a new burial. This land reuse is very significant as it
enables a family to share the same space without the anguish of separating
loved ones. Generations of family can re-use burial plots - all thanks to a
family member beginning a new tradition
