Richard L. Kuersteiner ’64 - Retired
from Franklin Templeton Investments on
May 1, 2012. Dick is currently serving
as a Director of Dex One Corp, and
has also been selected for the Board of
Dynegy, Inc. in Houston. “Rev. Frank

parish priest at St.
John’s Episcopal
Church when I was
in college. I later
joined Gamma Xi
while in law school,
but never realized
that Rev. Quigley (now passed) was a
Beta brother! Keep up the good work at

Memory & Our Mystic Shrine


We are saddened to have learned of the Paul Rain Dawkins ’53, a native of Jacksonville, FL and a retired
passing of the following Beta Brothers. Major in the United States Air Force passed away at age 80 January 15,
2012 surrounded by his loving family. Paul was born August 14, 1931
Our sympathies to their families and friends. and attended West Riverside Elementary, Landon High School. A proud
member of Gamma Xi, he graduated from the University of Florida with
Herbert Straughn ’50 honors, earning his Master’s Degree in Building Construction in 1957.
Earle Peeples ’51 Paul served in the US Air Force at Upper Heyford Air Force Base
near Oxford, England where he met and married
his wife, Pat, of 56 years. His 40 year career
was in the Dawkins family business founded by
his father Dewitt Clinton Sr. and he retired as
president of Ideal Housing Corp in 1995.
In his retirement years Paul enjoyed golf,
music, watching the Gators, travelling and
spending time with his three daughters and four
grandchildren.
