Early the next morning before even cock
crow and the place was still dark he went
into the kitchen to get some cream
crackers, and half a stick of butter.
Lighting his deya lamp he made his way
out the back quietly pulling the back door.
The morning was frigid and it added to
the level of fear that he felt of the gargled
trees that cast shadows in his path. Upon
reaching the near end of the farm in a
secluded spot Kristof placed his sacrifice;
his eyes focused on the orange glow cast
by the lamp as if hypnotized.
Kristof closed his eyes and in some make
shift prayer pleaded to Dee Baba “Please
make grandfather better, he has always
been a good man, he doesn’t cause harm
or trouble and he deserves to walk like
any other man”. Kristof had made his
sacrifice and near two weeks later he was
about to give up all hope.
