While Lori told her the story of

the steel donkey Mika’s eyes lit up with

excitement just as they used when her

mother would tell her tales. Lori told Mika

that the donkey usually roamed rural

areas at night. She told Mika of the time

her aunt was awoken in the middle of the

night due to a strange noise she heard

coming from the roof. Lori laughed out “

Mam she woke di whole town cause she

thought it was a tief”.

Lori said that her aunt got her

husband, Derrick to check out the sound

however they only saw stones on the roof

so they dismissed it for some late night

pranksters.But Lori said that she knew

better than to ignore it since her mother

had told her of her mysterious encounter

with the animal herself.
