Enrollment Findings for Elementary Schools
East of E-470
⊲ All four schools are near or exceeding traditional calendar capacity.
⊲ Significant new home construction is under way and will continue well beyond
2020.
⊲ Two neighborhoods from Pine Ridge (over 200 students) are overflowed to Black
Forest Hills and Coyote Hills. Construction of a new elementary school will allow
CCSD to end overflow enrollment and allow for future growth at Black Forest Hills
and Coyote Hills.
⊲ New neighborhoods are under construction in the Pine Ridge, Black Forest Hills,
and Coyote Hills attendance areas.
⊲ Enrollment will remain near capacity at both Coyote Hills and Buffalo Trail.
⊲ Conservative CCSD enrollment projections show Cherry Creek growing by
enough students to fill at least one additional elementary school by 2019.
⊲ Aggressive MetroStudy estimates suggest the need for the construction of two to
three additional elementary schools in the future, as enrollment may increase to
1,900+ students by 2020.
⊲ Significant growth will continue beyond 2020.
Recommendation:

the construction of a new
elementary school to provide

Ridge in the new Five-Year
