August 25. Harold and I went to show to see Broadway Gon-
dolier at Fox-Illinois with Dick Powell and Joan Blondell. Swell.
In evening went down to Bill’s and got a cone with Mildred. Also
             to Merrigan’s.

August 26. We didn’t work. I got a permanent from Dolly.
Neato perm. I like it. M. Cain came in. We went to dentist and
then went with her to pick out a present. In evening Mildred and
             I went to Merrigan’s.
August 27. Mr. Hale and Mr. Mack went with us. Mary didn’t
go. We went to Virginia in morning and Chandlerville in afternoon.
We had lots of fun sampling and everything.

August 28. Mack and Mr. Hale took us. We went to Tallula
and Petersburg. Swell time walking up and down hills in Petersburg.
             Came home rather late.

August 29. Jack Mack went with us to-day. We went to Havana.
Had a good time. Swiped 2 watermelons on way home. Went to
Millie’s and ate one. Then Mack took all of us to the show, Front
             Page Woman. Swell time.

August 30. First we went to Greenview. I drove the Dodge all
around town. Next to Mason City, then to Easton. I went with
Mack. He’s swell. Had a good time. Ate the other melon on way
             home.

September 20. Went to Springfield. Ginnie and I went with
Howard Anderson. We cheerleaded. Played Springfield. It was
broadcasted. The announcer told how we were dressed and how
much pep we had. We lost 19 - 0. Had a good time. Howard asked
me for a date but I wouldn’t go.

September 21. Bud Simon came over after school. He intro-
duced me to Jim Nolan. Darling. He’s going to send me Catholic
             newspaper. He autographed my books.
