He wouldn’t give her permission to read it. He sneaked out at 9:15
and we went with M.L. Maloney and Albert. They went to dance.
We rode around in the Packard while they were there. Came home
             at 11:30. Swell time!!

December 13. George wrote me a note and said Father Formaz
didn’t know he was out [of the Boarders’ House after curfew]. Skeets
fixed everything up. I had my club in evening. Angela couldn’t come.
We had a good time. George said he was going to break up the party.
                December 14. I worked from 11 to 9. George played b.b. in
Springfield. I promised him a X for each point he made. He said
he hoped he was lucky. He wanted the odds 10 to 1.

December 15. Cathedral beat 26-10. George made 4 points.
Albert and M.L. Maloney went with us. George and I went to the
show, Barbary Coast. Pretty good. Went riding afterwards. Good
             time as usual.

December 16. George wrote me a note and asked me what
I wanted for Xmas. In evening Norine, M. Eliz., Dorothy, and I
went uptown. Then we went to Davison’s. Had fun.

December 17. George sneaked out. He came down. Then Albert
and M.L. came by for us. We went riding. Had lots of fun. George
put cardboard in door [of the Boarders’ House] to get back in.

December 18. George wrote me a note and asked me if I was
trying to make him sore the way I acted last nite. I answered and
explained everything. He didn’t have b.b. practice after school,
so he met me and came down and stayed till supper time. Fun!!
December 19. George met me as soon as I came to school and
told me they didn’t have study tonite. We packed candy after school
for our Xmas party. He came down at 6:25. Stayed till 9:40. He
made Harold [age 14] tell him what I wanted for Xmas. We had
fun. Stayed home. Too cold to do anything.
