June 22. Went to dentist in morning. In afternoon I made a
cake. Pretty good, ha! In evening I went to Merrigan’s with Norine
and Weezie. We took Frances McGinnis home. I wrote a letter to
George.
June 23. Stayed home in evening. Margaret came in in af-
ternoon. I got a letter from George in morning. Answered in
afternoon. We went uptown. In evening I stayed home. I was so
lonesome I went to bed and cried myself to sleep.
June 24. Baked some cupcakes in morning. In afternoon went
to sleep. In evening went to dance with Weezie and “Jo.” Pretty
good time. Missed George too much to have fun. Beulah and Jane
were there too.
June 25. Went up and got my dresses from cleaners. They look
swell. Got a darling letter from Georgie. Was over at Mary’s and
Catherine’s all evening. Wrote a letter to George, I think.
June 26. I didn’t do much all day. In evening took a walk with
Mary and Catherine. Went to Davison’s.
June 27. I worked at Grant’s from 1 to 9. I like it. I work in
the candy department. John and I went uptown and got us a Coke
after work. Missed George as usual.
June 28. Eustacia came up. We went riding in afternoon.
Missed Georgie. Went to Merrigan’s. In evening I wrote him a
letter. Went riding with Mary and Catherine.
June 29. Joe came over in afternoon about 12:45. I didn’t know
he was coming. He called me up first. He and his cousin came. We
went out to Liberty and danced all afternoon. Had fun but not as
much as if it had been Georgie. He brought me a nice graduation
