Interface
Ribbon
Ribbon is used to give more flexibility, easier access to the tools and to create a more
consistent user interface across the different Autodesk applications.
The Ribbon contains flags called tabs, with area-specific information. Each tab is again
subdivided into more specific topics, called panels, which contains the tool functions.
The Panel Name appears at the bottom.
When you model in Revit, tools (Tools) appear, that are relevant to the object that is beeing
modeled. It is called the contextual tab (Contextual Tab).
Ribbon panels can be “pulled out” from a
Ribbon tab to show it as a "Sticky" Panel.
Sticky panels remain shown, even if you switch
to another tab.
When you want the bar back to the starting
point, you can drag the Panel in the grey sides.
The Panel should be pulled up to the Ribbon
and dropped. The Panel then finds themselves
back to the original place on the correct tab.
Shortcuts with ALT
By clicking the ALT button (Alternative), it is possible to display the default shortcuts, called
"Key tips" for use in Ribbons.
That way you can "type" through to the desired function.
