ENHANCED DETAILING – CURTAIN WALL

Task – Edit wall profile

Purpose: to understand how complex walls are modeled

1. In the canteen you have to make a glass corner in
modul J5

Use function Trim / Extend to Corner på de to
Curtain Walls

Revit will not be able to construct this correctly –
remains of the wall will be left behind, in which
Curtain Wall is inserted into, as shown in the CORNER DETAIL
illustration to the right.

Instead, use the function Edit Profile

2. Navigate to 1. Floor plan and mark the wall that
Curtain Wall in grid line 5 is inserted into.

It is important that you choose Host wall and not the
actual Curtain Wall.

In Context Tab click on the function Edit Profile

Wall profiles cannot be edited in Plan Views and
Revit will display a dialog box with the appropriate
views. Choose Elevation: Vest from the list

3. The profile for Curtain Wall can now be edited with
the sketch tools. Customize the sketch as the
illustration to the right.

When the sketch has been edited will Revit may
make an error message, ”Constraints are not
satisfied”, just click on”Remove Constraints” and
the sketch is completed.
