ENHANCED DETAILING – EXTERIOR CEILING AND SLANTING COLUMNS



          Enhanced detailing – Exterior ceiling and slanting

          columns

          Slab under the canteen area ends with a nice sub layer in form of an exterior ceiling. In order to
          support cantilever under the canteen area, also model a series of slanted columns.
          Task – Exterior ceiling and slanting columns

          Purpose: to understand how slanted columns are placed.


          1.   Before the slanted columns are placed, the
               walls around the canteen should be
               adjusted


               In order to cover the floor and slab as well
               as create space for insulation and an
               exterior ceiling, createw three exterior walls
               around the canteen with Base offset of -
               900


               Select the three walls and set in                             ONE OF THE THREE WALLS WITH
               Properties                                                          BASE OFFSET OF -900 MM


          2.   Model an exterior ceiling under the canteen
               and apply ceiling type ”Compound
               Ceiling – Exterior Plain”


               Place the ceiling 2900 mm above the level
               ”(01) Stue”

          3.   Slanted columns are created with the Structural Column

               Navigate to the ground level, set if necessary. 1st floor as
               Underlay, and click column tool.

               Architecture ► Column ► Structural Column

               In Context Ribbon there is now the option to choose Slanted
               Column
