Working Views
Working Views
With building components on different levels, it can often be difficult for you to understand your
project in the predefined 2D plan and elevation Views. Therefore, it is recommended that
already in an early stage, to create a series of "working Views" to a more efficient modeling.
These can be either 2D or 3D.
Creating Views is done in View-> Create. In this section, these Views are seen as a working
tool. Views are discussed later in this course in connection with documentation of the project.
3D View
The 3D View is a view of the database. It can be displayed as isometric 3D or perspective
through a camera.
3D Views are created either by Duplicate in Project Browser or by inserting the Camera.
Section Box
A Section Box is a box that puts the cut surfaces through the model, so that you see only the
desired part of the model, as shown in the 3D view.
You can create a 3D View, where it is desired to cut the model through, via a Section Box, in
Properties.
Switch on/off the Section Box:
Now you can see a box around the model. Drag
the handles so that it intersects the model,
where it is desired.
If the box does not appear, it may be because
that category is off in Visibility Graphics dialog
box.
View ► Graphics ► Visibility/Graphics
If the check mark on the View properties is removed, selection box is deleted, and when a new box is added, than this is corrected
again.
Alternatively, multiple objects can be selected and the function Selection Box
is used from Modify ►View
This will create a Section Box including objects that are selected in a 3D View
