COLUMNS

          Columns

In Revit, therie is distinction between "Architectural Columns" and "Structural Columns",
respectively for use in architectural models and design models. "Architectural Colmuns"
contains far fewer parameters than "Structural Columns" since there is no consideration to the
          load-bearing elements of the column.

          Structural Column:
Contains parameters relating to load-bearing elements in the
column, but also provides the option for location of columns
with slope and in conection with use with Grids.
          Modeled in negative height direction.

Architectural Column: Vertical column with more simple
          structure in the parameters.

          Modeled in positive height direction.

Load Family: Here you can download other columns as
columns are of type "Component Family".
Model In-Place: Create an "In-place" family using modeling
          tools.

          Option Bar changes appearance:

Rotate After Placement: Rotates the columns after they are inserted. It is also possible to
select column and press the space bar – it does the same thing.
Space rotates 90 ° (or perpendicular to the module line)-Rotate allows typing angle.
Room Bounding: The column is part of room bounding definition.
