me, Saff was weary of strangers but eager
to please, intelligent, obedient, gentle and
affectionate with his people; he was also a
good watch dog and hunter.
Saff was always cautious; he would check
things out all the time. In racing, the first
time he was entered, he first just ran
looking left and right checking the sides of
the track, and the judges at the end.
Satisfied with his inspection he raced at full
speed during the second and third
programs! He was nicknamed “speed
