Ferelith Somerfield in 2009. She loved the
luxury of the green carpet at Crufts and was
BOB there three times and was Group 2 under
Ann Horan in 2010. At The ETT Club’s Platinum
Anniversary Championship Show Lizzie was
Best in Show from a record entry of 82 under
judge Liz Cartledge.
The Witchstone story
would not be complete
without mention of the
famous Manchester Terrier
Ch Gloryline Margaret
Tudor with Shemal
Aireworth aka Madge.
She was the top winning
Manchester Terrier bitch of
all time for a while winning
16 CC’s and a host of
RCC’s. She was BIS at
the Club Championship in
2004 and Top Manchester
Terrier in 2004, 2005
& 2007. She was twice
Crufts BOB and took both Champion Show
Group 3 and Group 4 placings; at that time quite
rare for a Manchester.
Nick & Andy created another ‘first’ in breed
history by winning CC’s, BOB and back to back
Group Placings in both Manchester Terriers &
English Toy Terriers. Madge was a real show
girl and had a stunning head. She was admired
by ‘Terrier folk’ in all different breeds and it is
through Madge Nick & Andy have made some
very close ‘Terrier’ friends.

successful ‘partnership’ with Sian Gordon
who wanted to continue the success she had
achieved with her first Witchstone ETT. Sian
would more often than not take the two best
dog puppies in every litter to ‘run on’ and they
were always registered in joint ownership with
Sian & Andy. Nick always handled the dogs and
with Andy’s expert animal husbandry, Sian and
partner Mike’s ability to condition her dogs and
Nick’s rapport and expertise as a handler the
‘partnership’ created a highly successful winning
formula. Sian’s dogs
handled by Nick dominated
the show ring for a number
of years amassing well
over 50 CC’s, plenty of
Group placements and host
of Club Show Best Dog
& Best in Show awards.

Ch Witchstone Free’s
A Crowd becoming the
second two years later; he
was also placed second in the Grand Final held
at Kempton Racecourse. Free’s A Crowd was by
Ch Amalek I Got Rhythm and became one of the
top winning dogs of the decade with a total of 17
CC’s beating his father’s total by just one CC.
He was regularly Group placed at Championship
Level with only the Group 1 slot avoided in his
impressive collection.
