foot hounds and I am lucky to live in an area
that is surrounded by 4 packs of foxhounds and
                                                               three foot hound packs.
           Andrea Keepence-Keyte, Assistant Treasurer:
I have had pet dogs all of my life, it wasn’t until
I met my husband and we moved in together
that we got our first dog together. I really wanted
a Labrador but my sister in law had just bred
her beagle bitch and was expecting her first
litter and my husband had his heart set on a
beagle. So I am afraid to say he is completely to
blame for what followed! I owe everything to our
foundation bitch “Hollybourne Apple of My Eye
at Alandobel” pet named “Izzy”. Izzy joined our
family in March of 2006 and I have never looked
back. There is a saying that your first show dog
is for ruining and I’m not sure who ruined who
to be honest! She was a stubborn hound who
would show but on her terms. I retired her from
competition when I bred my first litter from her
and we kept her daughter Alandobel She’s a
Rebel (Pepper). This was also when I purchased Heidi Allenby, Promotions: I have been
my affix and in the previous year. Next came showing dogs for 26 years. Firstly, Petit
Lanesend Chica for Alandobel who took me Basset Griffon Vendéen. In which I made up 3
further in breed and handling competition champions. I gradually moved to Basset Fauve
than I had ever been before and Lanesend de Bretagne 15 years ago. I own both breed
Segenhoe JW ShCM (Braxton) who has given record holders. Have made up 9 champions.
me wonderful success in the breed and handling Gained over 100 CCs. Imported 4 dogs from
ring including 2RCC, 1CC and various adult France. I used to work on Crufts FM doing the
handling wins. Braxton is owned in partnership commentary in the main ring on the groups and
with my very dear friend and mentor Ann Phillips BIS. I am passionate about handling as my
of Lanesend Beagles fame. We have brought daughter has taken up a very keen interest. It
in to our kennel Redcap Northern Lights over would be nice to make the finals of the AHA as
Alandobel (Shelby) who due to covid, has been important as the JHA and YKC.
