Group Semi Final, ( before the Working/Pastoral
split ), out of an entry of 101. Going on to the
Final 6 at the Final. I competed with many
breeds in the Semis, taking a Flatcoat Retriever,
Toy Poodle, Cairn Terrier and a Greyhound. I
was shortlisted every year. When I turned 17, I
was a bit lost, no handling. I so wish the Adult
handling had been around then. A few years
later I started showing for the Frostisen Kennel,
an affix that I now co-own with the Frosts.
Frostisen is one of the top Norwegian Buhund
Kennels in the World. We don’t breed much
now, but have brought in numerous Imports,
with a view to strengthening the gene pool. We
           have accumulated over 100 CC’s, 200 Green
Stars and made up English, Irish, International
& Central European Champions. In 2002 I had
the great honour of taking our Mr Butler, Eng, Ir
& Int Ch Frostisen Leif onto that Green Carpet at
Crufts, having taken BOB at 10 years old under
a Norwegian Breed Specialist. Jumping forward
to now, I am heavily involved with the Admin
side of Dog Showing, I am Assistant Chief
Steward and Group Steward for Bath Canine
Society, Secretary of Gillingham & Shaftesbury
Open Show, Founder Member and Committee
Member of the White Swiss Shepherd Dog Club
of the UK. I represent the South West region
on the Show Liaison Council for the Kennel
Club, and I run the Trade Stand for Our Dogs.
Handling has always been at the forefront
of my life in Dogs. I think it is of the highest and was smitten with them. It was in 2010 I got
importance. I hope, with your support we can my first Buhund Dino, and he has exceeded
really raise the bar, and make the Adult Handling my expectations in and out of the show ring.
Association something to be really proud of. As the saying goes, you can never have just
one dog and now I have two more Buhunds to
Neil Hood, our Treasurer: I grew up with dogs, join me and Dino... they are Geeza and Storm.
I don’t know life without a dog or two in the Handling wise, except for Buhunds you’ll find me
house. I started off in junior handling by handling also handling a Weimaraner and very recently
various breeds, notably Boxers and then Black and Tan Coonhounds. I am a Handling
Border Collies. It was, in fact in 1994 I got the Judge and I also trained the 2016 junior handler
first dog of my own which was a Border Collie of the year, Sophie Wildig. I also am passed to
called Chester. I stepped away from showing award CCs in Norwegian Buhunds and currently
for a while to concentrate on university but researching other breeds I’m interested in. I
after graduating came back to dogs, primarily hope you can all support us in our new roles,
stewarding and helping out at Open Shows, but and hope we do this very well, giving this event
I did become owned by a Hungarian Puli called the grandeur it deserves.
Tarzan. Then in 2009 at an Open Show I first
met my dream breed, the Norwegian Buhund
