Look Around No Resort
Look at humanity, I am a tree
Innocent people screaming, Who sits at the edge of a crag,
and helpless families grieving,
Above me a climb and below my death
Look around and tell me, My roots grow deep into the ground
do you like the air you breathe? Allowing me neither to lift a leg
haven’t your lungs grown weak? Nor fall to a quiet fin
Burning forests fighting for air, Sun struggles to find its way
the underprivileged living in despair, To the edges where I idly lie
all while the rich decide what’s fair, For, the hills above break the rays
to selfishly trap in its frigid body
Look around, can’t you see?
men who show emotion being called weak? my leaves have turned yellow and pale
or the constant pressure of society? surrendered to the shadows of cold
Open your eyes and see, a shroud veil bestowed by the hills a
bove
how people seem to like division, I have no feet to stand nor hands to hold
rather than achieving inner peace, So, I sit here, vainly still
Spreading hate all around,
when we should make each other feel safe and sound. Above is my oppressor, below my perish.
Depriving people of their basic rights? I have nowhere to go.
Are we really this shallow?
