Is It Clean?
Peanut Butter
CHECK THE LABEL FOR CLEAN INGREDIENTS
Finding a clean eating peanut butter can be tricky. The easiest
thing to do is check the label on the jar. Does it say organic? Does
it include only peanuts in the ingredients and perhaps a little bit of
salt? Conventional jarred peanut butter is often pumped with high-
fructose corn syrup, extra sodium, and hydrogenated oil, which
are unnecessary and actually destroy the wonderful fresh taste of
natural, ground peanuts. These days, you can more easily find clean
eating peanut butter at your local grocery store. Or better yet, turn to
the recipe for Creamy Natural Peanut Butter on page 306 and make
your own. And remember, other nutritious alternatives to peanut
butter are almond butter and cashew butter.
