Preparing to
Eat Clean
Are you almost ready for your kick-of trip to the grocery store? Before you
head out, give a once-over to your current pantry and do some spring clean-
ing (regardless of the season). After you know what you have at home, follow
the tips in this chapter to find out what to buy to restock your pantry, and
what to toss.
Have a Plan
The best way to succeed with a lifestyle change is to have a plan that you can
stick to. The four-week clean eating meal plan set forth in detail in chapter 3
takes the guesswork out of grocery shopping by equipping you with a complete
shopping list for all the meals of each week. That way, you know exactly what
to buy and use for cooking, and you won’t end up with a refrigerator (or com-
post bin) full of unused ingredients. You’ll also learn what to prep ahead and
how to stock a clean eating pantry. Best of all, you’ll find tips on how to save
precious time and money. After four weeks of following this meal plan, you’ll
be a clean eating pro, likely doing all you can to hold yourself back from evan-
