Adventures of Aimi
Aimi laughed. “A walnut brain. How funny! Is my brain the color of walnut?”
DJ looked at Grami. “I don’t know the answer to that question.”
“I heard a talk show on the radio,” said Grami. “The brain function specialist said to imagine a gray glove on your left fist and a white glove on your right fist—that represented the slight color difference between the human brain’s left and right hemispheres.”
“Do you need to get up and move around, Aimi?” asked DJ. “It can be tiring to sit quietly in one position for a long time.”
Aimi got off the stool. She walked over to Grami in the cozy rocking chair. Then she walked over to the jungle gym. Then Aimi jumped up and down and up and down. Solly jumped up and down and up and down, too.
“Look Grami,” said Aimi. “Solly is copying
me. He’s jumping up and down and up and down.”
“Solly likes to mimic what others do,” said DJ, the real live artist. “Chimpanzees in a zoo often mimic
what they see the visitors doing. It can be quite funny.”
