Adventures of Aimi
“If I had a cast,” said Toni, “I’d choose a white cast.”
“Names would show up clearly on a white cast,” said Grami. “On the other hand, a white cast would also show dirt more easily.”
“That’s right,” said Dr. Stafford. “After six weeks your cast would be brownish in color, not white. As I said, you always give up something to get something.”
“Oh,” said Toni, “I hadn’t thought of that.”
“Part of growing up to be a successful adult is learning how to
evaluate what you must give up in order to get something,” said Dr. Stafford. “Or what you get when you must give up something. That takes time to learn. Some people seem to have a difficult time learning that no one can have everything.”
“You sound a little like Grami,” said Aimi. “She says we need to learn how to choose because no one can have everything.”
Dr. Stafford looked at Grami and winked.
“I’ll be careful of my new pink cast,” said Aimi. “I want it to stay pretty and clean.”
