Carrousels of San Diego started the year
“reconnecting” in style! We assembled
to plan our 2021-2022 year. Our July 9th
planning meeting was held at Carrousel
Bobbi Gilliam’s home. It was a fabulous
gathering high atop downtown San Diego.
We were wowed by unobstructed views to
the North, South, East, and West of America’s
Finest City!! The meeting was hosted by
Carrousel Cigi Oakley, our new president.
Madame President, her daughter, and her
granddaughter showed off their culinary
skills with a bountiful home-cooked meal.
Community safety standards and precautions
were in place. It made for a very comfortable
and relaxing get-together. Carrousels

received their gorgeous gift bags from the
2021 Virtual Convention that was held on
June 25th and 26th.
The San Diego Carrousels believe in keeping
our “connections” strong by discussing
shared life experiences. A lively discussion
was held answering the question, “What
would you change?” in context of life
after the COVID-19 Pandemic. Overall, the
consensus was to have more opportunities
to see and spend time with each other.
Members also shared any post-pandemic
vacation plans. The pandemic put a damper
on some of our desired activities, but not our
sisterhood spirit!
