proceed from God and lead you to attain the goal of life: God-realization.
Third Commandment
Thou shalt not take the Name of the Lord thy God in vain.
This commandment urges a person not to take the Divine Name lightly. In daily conversation many people utter “Oh God,” over the smallest problems or sources of frustration. Further, many swear when they are angry, invoking the name of God as if to give authority to their weakness and loss of mental balance. Some people even worship God in order to harm others, and some assert the name of God in perpetuating evil. In all of these cases, one is taking the name of God in vain.
Because God is infinite benevolence, you cannot call upon God or invoke His name for supporting your weaknesses or perpetuating any form of evil. On the other hand, repetition of mantra, using the name of God for advocating goodness, or adoring and glorifying Him through speech are all in perfect harmony with the commandment.
