October 16, 2018 - The Journey of Strength




                                                      Upon review of the research, strength training is one
                                                      of the best activities that adds nothing but benefits.
                                                       The research has proven that strength training
                                                      maintains and improves muscle mass as we get older;
                                                      even at the young age of 80 we can still improve
                                                      strength, which leads to greater degrees of
                                                      independence.
                                                      It has been shown that strength training also improves
                                                      cognitive abilities, and has benefits for Alzheimer’s. It
                                                      improves our overall all health, including nervous
                                                      system activity, hormonal activity, blood pressure, and
                                                      diabetes. When you are strong, you can be as active as
                                                      you want to be, and do the things you want to do.
                                                      Strength, to us, is an exciting adventure of self-
                                                      challenges with great rewards, not to mention the
                                                       benefits of being stronger for sport whether it is
        Mat Palmer at the 2016 Provincial             competitive or recreational.
