when our library catalogue is made available to the public through our website.
Although a great deal of scanning has already been completed in the past, we are now rethinking the format of
the electronic files. In addition, we will need to add the link for each scanned file with its corresponding entry in
the library catalogue.
Viking Academy - Targeted Training!
We are pleased to introduce our "Viking Academy" Aerostructures Training Program. Successful
applicants are paid during the eight-week program designed to teach basic introductory aerostructures
assembly skills. The curriculum will provide both theoretical instruction in the classroom, and practical
instruction in our training workshop.
Successful graduates of Viking Academy will become full-time employees of Viking, and begin a
rewarding career learning to assemble hundreds of different aerostructures such as cockpits, wings, and
cowlings.
Topics of instruction include:
Blueprint reading Riveting Reaming
Fasteners Sealants Structures
Program Details:
Invitation to the Viking Academy will be based upon the applicant's propensity for working with their
hands, successful completion of mechanical-based aptitude and comprehension testing, and an
interview with Viking management. Successful completion of the program will be based on the
demonstrated skill and ability to learn exhibited during the course of the program, and results of the
final exam. Attitude, punctuality, and attendance during the program will also be prime considerations
for successful completion of the program.
Tuition:
Viking covers all tuition costs associated with Viking Academy, and successful applicants will receive a
training wage during the course of this eight-week program. Permanent employment will only be
offered to those individuals that successfully complete the program.
Instruction & Location:
Instruction for Viking Academy is provided by qualified Viking Trainers. All instruction occurs at Viking’s
Assembly Plant located at 1959 de Havilland Way, Sidney B.C.
