B- THE WING WOODEN FRAME – PLYWOOD COVERED (Mosquito)

The wing is the major component of the airplane that gives WOODEN FRAME – FABRIC COVERED (Sopwith Camel)
it the ability to fly and will be dealt with in more detail
during our discussion on the topic THEORY OF FLIGHT.
There are today two types of wing configurations used.

1-MONOPLANE – A plane that has only one wing (Harvard)

                                                                      COMPOSITE – (Modern Airliner Construction)

2-BIPLANE – A plane that has 2 wings (Tiger Moth)

Five general systems of wing construction are being used AILERONS are movable surfaces located near the wing tip
today to give the Airplane LATERAL STABILITY (see theory of
METAL FRAME-METAL COVERED (P-51 Mustang) flight)

                                                                                           THE TAIL
