In January 1980, the Chapter organized an Associates section with Mrs. Barbara James serving
as chairperson with a roster of ten. The Dallas Associates presently have a membership of more
than 90 ladies and Ms. Ava Washington serves as chair.
LEADERSHIP
With great pride and some nostalgia, the Chapter looks back over the road it has traveled under
the leadership of Madams Blanche Davis, Winfred Rhodes, Ollie Lee Mason, Sadye Gee, Nadine
Stanfield, Anita Smith, Helen Beckett, Hazel Partee, Mildred Thomas, Pearl Kidd, Rose Schultz,
Barbara James, Eddie Bernice Johnson, Jessie Page, Bobbie Elston Lang, Mary Daniels, Gloria
White, Lela Hill Wicks, Cheryl Malone, Geraldine Callahan, Ruth E. Robinson, Gloria King,
Peggy Jones, James Murphy Spigner, Daisy Sidney Davis, Loraine Lee, Eunice Adams, Margo
Posey, Barbara Steele, Lori Parker, Cynthia Arterbery, Lynda Longstreet-Hall, Glenda Delgado
and Connie Wilson.
The Dallas Chapter has been represented in national and regional leadership positions which
include: a past National Program Director and Regional Director, Mrs. Hazel Partee; former
Regional Director of South Central Region, Mrs. Rose Schultz; Mrs. Helen Beckett, first
member of South Central Region to serve on the Jack and Jill Foundation Steering Committee;
Mrs. Eddie Bernice Johnson, former National Vice President; Mrs. Eleanor Conrad, 1972
National Convention Parliamentarian; Mrs. Daisy Davis served on the National Nominating
Committee, Timekeeper in 1988; Mrs. Veronica Frazier, Secretary-Treasurer of South Central
Region, 1987- 1989, National Treasurer 1990-1994; and Mrs. Peggy Jones, National Nominating
Committee 1992. Mrs. Ava Washington served as Jack and Jill Foundation President until 2004
and Mrs. Debra Hunter Johnson served nationally as Secretary of the Jack and Jill Foundation,
Inc. Board of Trustees in 2007. In 2014, Glenda Delgado served on the National Strategic
Relevance and Value Committee. In 2017, Mrs. Brenda Dawkins recently completed service as
the South Central Region Chaplain.
BEAUTILLION
During the Silver Anniversary Year in 1978, the Dallas Chapter presented its first ever
Beautillion scholarship fundraiser, a celebration of achievement and social grace for Dallas’ best
and brightest young men. Beautillion Beaux and their accompanying Belles participate in a
three-month program that includes community service and instruction in team building, financial
planning, career preparation, leadership, the legal system, law enforcement interaction and health
literacy. Beautillion proceeds fund Beaux scholarship awards, local community nonprofits that
uplift families and the Jack and Jill of America Foundation, Inc. to support programs that create
opportunities and challenges for children to learn and practice leadership skills and build moral
character. At the 2014 National Convention, Beautillion was awarded Best in the Nation for
Leadership Development for the 37th Annual Beautillion Leadership Program. The Dallas

Chapter celebrated its 40 Annual Beautillion event in March 2017. The event was attended by
South Central Regional Director, Consuella Guillory-Adams, in addition to several regional and
local chapter officers and members.
Congressman and former National Vice President of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated, Mrs.
Eddie Bernice Johnson bestowed the Inaugural Eddie Bernice Johnson Scholarship for
Beautillion Leadership.
