ARTICLE II.
                                                       Memberships

               Section 1.     Individual Classification
                       A.     ACTIVE MEMBERS
                       1.     Mothers, female legal guardians or custodial caretakers with children
                              between the ages of two (2) years through the nineteenth (19) year may   hold
                       active membership in the Dallas Chapter of Jack and Jill of America,    Incorporated.
                              a.     “Active” is defined as attending chapter meetings, participating in
                                     local chapter meetings, participating in local chapter activities,
                                     sponsoring age-group activities. Members are encouraged to support the
                                     Jack and Jill of America Foundation.
                       2.     An active member must be financial with National, Regional and Chapter fees as
                              provided in the Bylaws.
                              a.     To maintain membership, a member must be in good standing.       Good
                              standing as used in this document means a mother must be  active  and  financial.
                              Active is defined as participating in local    chapter  activities,  sponsoring  age-
                              group activities and supporting
                                     the  Foundation.  Financial  is  defined  as  having  paid  all  chapter,
                                     regional and national dues, assessments and fees.
                       3.     a.     Members  shall  attend  a  minimum  of  five  mothers’  meetings  per
                                     program  year  in  order  to  maintain  good  standing.    In  the  event  of
                                     extenuating circumstances requiring additional absences, a  member  shall
                              submit a written request stating the reasons for said  request  to  the  Membership
                              Committee Chair.  The Membership  Committee  Chair  shall  forward  the  request
                              for consideration by the     Executive  Committee.    The  Executive  Committee
                              shall make a   recommendation to the body however, the membership shall make
                                     the final decision regarding a members’ attendance infraction.
                              b.     Members in  good standing shall PARTICIPATE in  planning  for child’s
                                     group activities.  Members shall SPONSOR
                                      an activity for each age group in which she has a child and SUPPORT
                                     group activities by having their child in attendance.
                              c.     Members  shall  support  any  chapter  project  approved/agreed  by  a  2/3
                                     majority vote of the membership in a regular meeting.
                              d.     A member in good standing shall be required to attend one National OR one
                                     Regional Convention OR one Regional Area Workday/Cluster within each
                                     four-year period for the duration of her membership tenure. The rolling one
                                     in four year conference attendance is required to maintain a membership in
                                     good standing.


                              e.     Members shall be responsible for children in a given group to insure that
                                     their child (children) participates in all their sponsored activities and shall
                                     allow no more than three (3) unexcused absences from said group sponsored
                                     activities during a program year.  Excused absences include: school/work
                                     related conflict, family conflict, illness in family.
