CHAPTER COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS
Beautillion- Plans all Beautillion related activities for total chapter participants with the purpose
of raising funds for the National Foundation and local charities.
Budget – Plans the yearly budget for presentation at the first meeting of the fiscal year, conducts
an internal audit of the Chapter at the close of the year before the books are submitted for an
external audit/review.
Constitution/Bylaws – Reviews and recommends revisions to the local By-laws by December,
following a National Conference, to ensure that the Chapter’s by-laws are consistent with the
National Constitution and to ensure that no clause shall differ there from; takes charge of all
amendments to the by-laws and circulates to all members.
Courtesy & Protocol – Presents to the membership the general guidelines for extending
courtesies to members, their families, retired members, associates and visiting national/regional
officers on official Jack and Jill business; facilitates the implementation of those guidelines
within financial restraints.
Foundation – Makes recommendations for the Chapters’ support of the National Foundation and
explores worthy local projects for the Chapter’s financial support and participation.
Membership – Screens applicants for membership in Jack and Jill, Inc., on or before February 1;
gives consideration to applicants who grew up in the Dallas Chapters of Jack and Jill, ages of
applicants’ children and the needs of the groups within the chapter; works with the Social
Committee to arrange for installation services for new members; maintains the accurate
attendance records of members at monthly meetings, area/regional/national conferences.
Programming – Works with the mothers to establish quality activities for the children that are
engaging and enriching. Makes sure that the current year Programming Thrusts are implemented
into the chapter’s programming.
Social – Plans and implements social activities for the chapter members and families. Also
works on developmental and training activities for the mothers.
Christmas Breakfast – Plans the Christmas social during the month of December for the entire
chapter families.
Black Family Day – Plans this end of the programming year celebration which highlights the
graduating seniors in the chapter.
September Picnic – Plans the Carol Robertson Memorial Day for the entire chapter and family.
Scrap Book – Maintains information and photos that will be used for the chapter scrap books
that are needed for Mother’s Conference and the National Convention.
