D. The fiscal year for Jack and Jill of America, Inc. is June 1 through May 31.
The program year is the same as the fiscal year.
Section 2. Fund-raising
A. The Beautillion will be the recognized fund-raising activity for the chapter.
B. Every member shall support the major fund-raiser through the Beautillion
Assessment, equal to five (5) tickets or the equal amount in ads solicited
or sponsorships obtained, and participate in planning the event. The
assessment will be due no later than January Mother’s meeting.
C. All contributions should be received by the National Treasurer on or before
June 1.
D. A minimum of one third (1/3) of the proceeds raised in the name of Jack
and Jill of America, Incorporated shall be designated for the Jack and Jill
Foundation. The remaining portion may be distributed within the same program
year that they were earned for support of local charities, as approved by the IRS.
Section 3. Financial Statement
A. A financial statement for the period June 1 through May 31 shall be
submitted on a form provided by the National Treasurer no later than June 30 of
each year.
ARTICLE VIII.
PARLIAMENTARY AUTHORITY
Section 1. Constitution and BylawsThese Bylaws shall not conflict with the National
Constitution. A chapter that does not comply with regional or national requirements
as outlined in these bylaws or the organization’s, policies and procedures or other
governing documents, may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including
termination.
Section 2. Parliamentary Procedure
A. The rules contained in the current edition of Robert’s Rules of Order
Newly Revised shall govern Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated in all cases to
which they are applicable and in which they are not inconsistent with the Bylaws
and any special rules of order which may be adopted. Robert’s Rules is applicable
only when the provision is not governed by the National Constitution and Bylaws
and any other National governing document of Jack and Jill of America,
Incorporated. The Chapter bylaws shall not be more restrictive than the National
Bylaws.
B. Pursuant to Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised Edition abstentions do
not count when determining the voting population.
