ARTICLE IV.
COMMITTEES
Section 1. Standing Committees
A. The standing committees of the chapter shall be:
*Executive *Constitution and Bylaws
*Program *Social
*Membership *Beautillion
*Budget *Courtesy
*National Foundation *Nominating
*Jack and Jill Week *Legislative
B. Special committees shall be appointed as needed.
C. With the exception of the nominating committee, the President shall
appoint all committee chairs. The nominating committee shall be elected by the
Membership in January of an election year no later than sixty (60) days prior to an
upcoming election. The President is an ex-officio member of all committees except
the Nominating and Audit committees.
Section 2. Responsibilities of Standing and Special Committees
A. All committees must submit their proposed budget for the ensuing year by the April
meeting.
1. The EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE consists of elected and appointed
officers of the chapter, one (1) Associate, the immediate Past President and
two (2) members at large appointed by the President. The Executive
Committee may include any past Dallas Chapter presidents who are active
members of the Dallas Chapter. Non-voting members of the committee
shall consist of the Associate member and the Past-president member. A
quorum of the Executive Committee shall consist of a 2/3 majority of its
voting members.
2. EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE meetings may be called by the President or
the Vice President to take care of urgent Chapter business excluding the
business otherwise specified by the bylaws.
3. The EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE will devise a form to be used in May for
evaluating the Chapter programs and activities.
4. The EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE will conduct operations within the
boundaries of the National and Chapter Bylaws and Robert’s Rules of
Order.
B. The PROGRAM COMMITTEE shall be chaired by the Program Director and
consist of Sponsors and Co-Sponsors of each grade group.Grade group requirement
include participation in the planning of the events by the Mothers and attendance
of the events by the participating child. Lack of compliance will be reviewed by the
Executive Committee and addressed as needed.
C. The MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE shall screen applications for
membership in Jack and Jill, Incorporated on or before January 31. Give
consideration to applicants who grew up in the Dallas Chapter of Jack and Jill, ages
of applicants’ children and the needs of the groups. The committee shall be
