Money and Evolution
➢ We started this journey as Hunter/Gatherers with a very rudimentary, instinctive brain (1.0) that was wired for
survival. Suffice as to say, we weren’t very big thinkers at this point.
➢ We eventually evolved into higher functioning mammals with larger, much more capable brains with the
development and “upgrade” to the emotional brain (2.0) and ultimately, the thinking brain, (3.0) which is where
we are now.
➢ We then begin to invent some pretty cool things like, the wheel! This made sourcing for our food much easier.
This in turn, led us into the Agricultural Revolution and the rise of agrarian economies.
➢ We kept getting smarter over time and used our creativity to innovate which brought rise to new inventions in
machinery and eventually led us to the Industrial Revolution.
➢ For the first time in human history, people left the farms for the cities. Finally…we figured out how to get a job
and a paycheck!
