If You Are Considering Your Backyard...
• Many couples/families think it will save money to have a wedding at their home and/or in their
back yard. This is not necessarily true, depending on what your vision is. Backyard weddings can
be lovely, but we want to be sure you understand what you’re signing up for.
• Would you like to have the ceremony and cocktail hour and reception all at your home? Do you
have enough room for each to be held in a different space for the number of guests you’re
expecting? Or will you need to re-set the ceremony space for the reception?
• Will you need to remove furniture or equipment to make enough room? Where will you store it?
• If you’re thinking of using the backyard, where will your Plan B space be? Tenting, heating and
cooling can be quite expensive.
• Do you have enough power and lighting or will you need a generator?
• Do you have enough restrooms and parking for the number of guests you’re expecting?
Does your community have a noise
ordinance you must comply with?
You will likely need to rent tables & chairs, a
dance floor, lighting, china, flatware,
glassware, linens, portable bars, lighting,
heaters, etc. Do you have proper access for
all the deliveries?
Who will set everything up for you?
Who will clean everything up at the end of
the night?
